Major decisions can shape a community for decades
The Columbia Wind Project, and the infrastructure that comes with it, could reshape land use, utilities, local planning, private property, businesses and quality of life across Columbia County. Local governments and landowners say the current Public Service Commission (PSC) application leaves out basic information the community needs – project’s full scope, related infrastructure, emergency response needs, environmental risk, and long-term local responsibilities.

Wisconsinites for Local Control (WLC) is working on behalf of local governments, landowners, residents, and business owners so the people most affected have accurate information, expert support, and a voice that carries weight.
WLC is the only accepted PSC intervener representing local governments, residents and landowners for the Columbia Wind Project and related future dockets. That means WLC is directly engaged in the docket, reviewing filings, tracking the proceedings, and putting legal, technical, regulatory, and utility expertise to work for the communities involved.

Infrastructure decisions of this scale move through multiple local, state, utility, and their regulatory processes. The processes are often technical and difficult for almost anyone without specialized training to follow. WLC translates what is being proposed, what is being decided, and where community input can still shape the outcome.
